In all fields of practice we represent clients in litigation if necessary, pursuing the claims of our clients in legal proceedings before state courts and arbitration tribunals. This applies particularly to corporate law, banking and investment law, commercial law, antitrust and competition law, trademark law, construction law, labor law as well as commercial rental law.

Legal representation at all levels

We advise our clients on all forms of litigation from enforcement proceedings in the municipal courts through to complaints before the Federal Supreme Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht). We represent clients in all forms of proceedings, for example injunction proceedings, summary debt proceedings or cheque payment proceedings, proceedings in the main action and declaratory proceedings.

Our extensive experience of litigation is relied upon by our clients well in advance of any potential dispute. For one thing at the advisory and contract creation stages we are alerted to potential areas of dispute and endeavour from the beginning either to defuse them or to give our clients an advantageous starting position. Second we are familiar with the modes of thought of judges and arbitrators and can accordingly assess how contracts and agreements will later be interpreted. This foundation gives us the security to draft agreements that stand up in dispute situations.

Alternative dispute resolution and the pre-emptive minimization of risk

A significant field of our activity is alternative dispute resolution. Knowing full well how time-consuming and costly litigation can be, we advise our clients also on this aspect of dispute resolution. Often, it turns out that proceedings are something to be avoided or turned to only as a last resort. We then take steps to avoid a legal dispute and to negotiate on behalf of our client for the best possible settlement.

We see ourselves in every stage of preparation and the conduct of proceedings not as 'fixers' after the event, but as alert and prudent advisers representing the interests of our client with foresight.
